Training session on Highland Fling at Loro Piana Superyacht

Seventeen entries at the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2012 ranging from 24 to 60m, even organized by Boat International and the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. PROtect tapes is widely used on superyacht and in fact in the last few weeks we have been extremely busy in slitting custom width for these very large yachts and putting together last minute orders.

After a lazy day spent at Porto Pollo and a lovely sunset on Spiaggia del Principe, Sunday was more hectic. 

I was supposed to go sailing on Salperton V (Dubois 45m by Fitzory Yachts) but unfortunately they were busy in preparing her to racing mode and they decided not to sail so I accepted the invitation of Xavier Mecoy to join the fantastic crew of Sir Irvine Laidlaw and the double Olympic Medal, America's cup and Match Race campion Peter Holmberg.

The first day of the practice day was with very light wind but in despite of that, this RP82 is extremely reactive and fast.
According to the navigator the wind was supposed to build up during the day and in fact around noon we had 15/17 knots, ideal conditions for this boat giving them the change to test different gennaker, jib and staysail.

Professionally, the day was extremely useful because I had the opportunity to see PROtect tapes in action, especially PROtect Mask PMG050025330, PML125025330, PMH250025330, PROtect Chafe PCB500 and PCT500 and sitting on the rail I got few new ideas to be explored together with Research & Innovation team.
